FAQs
Physiotherapists are highly trained and qualified health professionals who work in partnership with their patients to effectively treat physical injuries and ailments.
Physiotherapists assess, diagnose and treat injuries, pain and disabilities. At Active Rehab Physiotherapy, we use evidence-based manual physiotherapy treatment techniques coupled with appropriate exercise programs to alleviate pain, restore function and prevent injury.
Is pain getting stopping you from doing things you’d like to do?
Do you have sore joints or muscles that ache?
Do you have recurring back or neck pain or headaches?
Do you want to stay healthy and prevent recurrent injury?
Would you like to know how to exercise safely?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then we are here to help you. And these are only a few of the more common reasons why you might visit a physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy can help virtually any body part become (and stay) pain and injury free. Just remember, healthy bodies equal happy people!
Your first appointment with one of our physios will act as the initial consultation. This is where we conduct a comprehensive assessment and develop a clear understanding of your physical health, the condition and your lifestyle. During this time, we also assess the injury and your movement capabilities.
Once we have all the necessary information, your physio will tailor a specific treatment plan to be started straight away. Your treatment might include remedial massage combined with exercises and stretches to perform at home.
When you leave our clinic, we aim to achieve the following goals:
Able to provide detailed explanation on what the causes of the issues are
Able to relieve pain and associated symptoms through hands on treatments
Able to provide effective and precise exercise program
Able to start promoting self independence managing the problem, aim to train you up to be “your own physio” as long term goal
If possible, please wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment. Your physio will need to assess your injury, so ensure you wear clothing that allows easy access to the injured area. During your initial consultation, your therapist will ask for details about the pain you’re experiencing; how it started and what makes it worse? We recommend making a list of these details in advance.
We do recommend our clients to bring any relevant medical assessments of the injury (such as x-rays or MRI scan) to the first appointment.
