Sports Injury
Sporting injuries are often challenging and return to play timelines can vary greatly between individuals. Our goal is to assist be helping to prevent further injury through restoring (or improving) the athletes strength, flexibility, postural control and endurance where necessary, so their return to sport can be achieved both safely and in the shortest possible time

Chronic & Acute Pain management
If you have at least one chronic medical condition and complex care needs (as determined by your GP) you may be eligible for 5 Care Plan visits to an allied health practitioner under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) scheme.
Active Rehab Physiotherapy works with you under this scheme to educate you on creating a healthy lifestyle and to give you strategies to aid in the treatment of your condition.

Headaches
Cervical dysfunction is commonly the underlying cause of headaches. Therefore, treating the neck effectively can significantly reduce migraines and headaches.
At Active Rehab Physiotherapy clinic we take a detailed history and carefully assess for potential headache triggers to determine the cause of your headache. Our physiotherapists can help relieve headache and migraine symptoms, using further preventative measures including postural, sleeping and ergonomic advice,as well as any necessary targeted exercises. Our goal is to keep you both headache and painkiller free.
Jaw Pain (TMJ Dysfunctions)
The Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) or jaw is a complex mechanical joint which allows us to chew, speak, yawn and perform many other daily functions. Compromised movement and pain in the jaw can be caused by a range of medical problems. Common complaints we hear from our TMJ dysfunction patients include jaw pain, clicking, restricted chewing action, teeth clenching or grinding.
Our experienced physiotherapists can assess and treat TMJ along with any other mechanical structures that may be involved. Our team are trained to perform specialised releases techniques and provide you with individual exercises to achieve normal TMJ motion and reduce pain.
WorkCover and Occupational Health
Active Rehab Physiotherapy offers return-to-work rehabilitation programs for people who have suffered a work related injury and have been partially or unable to work.
This program is designed to help you return to work safely and efficiently by:
- Improving pain management.
- Increasing work related fitness levels.
- Facilitating strength and conditioning
- Assisting programs to return to pre-injury work duties.
- Employing strong communication strategies between you, your employer, GP, rehabilitation provider and the insurance company.
We will prepare you through physical conditioning and active self-management tailored specifically to your circumstances to ensure your re-entry into the workplace is safe and timely.
Dry Needling & Acupunture
Dry needling involves the use of a sterile, single-use, fine filament needles for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. It aims to address pain and dysfunction in the soft tissue by providing pain relief and restoring function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots in muscle).
Common injuries treated through this procedure include low back pain, neck pain, whiplash, shoulder pain, elbow pain, knee pain and ankle sprains etc.
Our physiotherapists have undergone extra training after completing their University degrees to become proficient at dry needling.
Fracture Management
Effective physiotherapy can offer you a quicker return to full function and a more positive rehabilitation outcome following a fracture injury.
We use the best quality Delta Dry and Delta Cast-Elite products so that you have the most comfortable, water-proofed and most importantly most durable cast on the market, specific to suit your fracture or injury. We will also give you thorough advice and education whilst you have the cast on.

Our therapists are experts in the delivery of evidence-based exercise programs for the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation and chronic health conditions. We specialise in delivering a holistic program based around each individual, gleaning exactly what each client wants to achieve and then drawing up a program on how to achieve those goals based on nutrition, exercise, behaviour and movement.

Pre-employment Assessment
Active Rehab Physiotherapy offers a highly accurate and involved experience. We follow strict guidelines and procedures in order to minimise assessment error, which is commonly seen in these testing procedures. Our practitioners are highly trained to provide a more detailed understanding on the capacity of the employee while also allowing for a more positive experience.
Active Rehab Physiotherapy can provide pre-employment assessment appointments with as little as 48 hours’ notice. The turnaround of the results of these assessments will also be prompt and delivered in a way which is easy to understand for the employer to make an educated decision.
